Wise Workshop

The workshop for Women in Hardware and Systems Security (WISE) has 5 year’s history. It used to be co-located with top conferences in the security area. This is the first time that we move it to local,  New Hampshire.

The purpose of this workshop is to attract more women to join the field of cybersecurity with special emphasis on hardware and systems security (HSS) and provide a forum for the women in HSS to support each other. Considering the number of women entering the engineering profession is decreasing annually, it is critical to understand and encourage the young female students to choose engineering profession and participate in research activities.

BAE First Scholarship Program

Do you have students in your class that have participated in First and are looking for scholarships to fill the gap to go to college? Make sure to pass along the BAE First Scholarship Program along to your students. You may even want to go over this with younger students so they know what the requirements are to ensure they qualify later in their high school career.  Online recommendation forms should be submitted the summer prior to senior year for students.

Code.org 2021 PD Application Now Open

Did you know that students who study computer science perform better in other subjects, excel at problem-solving, and are more likely to attend college? That's why now is the best time to attend Code.org’s Professional Learning Program, which will prepare you to bring CS to your students by this fall. No previous experience with CS is required. If you have a colleague you think would make a great CS teacher, let them know too!

The National CSTA 2019 Conference was held in Phoenix in July. I attended the conference to learn more about our New Hampshire chapter's role in CSTA and to attend hands-on workshops. The best part of the trip was meeting up with CSTA New England chapter members from Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. It was exciting to finally meet up with vendors representatives from Code.org, CodeHS.com, GitHub, and so many more.
